Congratulations NZ.

@Zinzan, is your username inspired from the rugby player Zinzan Brooke, from Chris Harris' middle name or simply your own name?

Just can't beat the drama of Test cricket.

Can't underestimate this moment for NZ either. Best series result this century for me. Beats those couple of away wins in the Windies, and away draws in Aust, SL & Pakistan.
Yeah thank goodness there isn't a third test .

Well done Kiwis! Series win and all that.
Savour it; it couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of players (and fans),

Hard to get a gauge on the "vibe" when I'm following cricinfo comms, but this seems particularly gutsy given Wagner and Sodhi came together probably half-expecting to only face another 6 or 7 overs before it got dark, but ended up facing 32. Must have really tested their will having the expected challenge constantly prolonged like that.

That's a bit weird that the umpires wouldn't play it out, but if it's dark, it's dark I suppose.

Unbelievable stuff from Sodhi. Brilliant from Wagner.

Even with it's weaknesses this is a bloody good side guys.
Kind of annoying since there was only 1-2 minutes left at that point, & even a wicket off the next ball wouldn't have allowed the no. 11 out.

May have made it feel easier for them honestly.

Only a few more overs left surely. Then that ends up being said twenty times over the next twenty overs.

Great effort

Think that series win moves us up into number 3 in the rankings too.

Weird that Southee got man of the match. While NZ clung on, England definitely dominated, and the main reason they did was because of Bairstow's batting and Broad's bowling. MoTM really should've gone to one of them.

Sodhi definitely looked like he was losing focus a few times ... credited Wagner in the interview with getting him through.

What an innings from the pair of them!!! Two of my favourite cricketers, that was pure determination! :D

Nope seems Aust stay at 3 even if SA wrap this series up 3-1.

Incidentally..I see the Windies and Sri Lanka have a 3 match Test series coming up..

Furious agreement between Doull and Root that there should've been a third test btw.

England with a couple of swing bowlers and an un-penetrative left arm spinner struggling to take tail-end wickets on a flat one - had to feel like I was watching New Zealand there for a while.

I think this is wrong, I think ICC's removed the NZ v Eng series from the predictor without updating the table - pretty sure we move up to 104 points with the series win. Can't remember for sure though.

On the individual level, Sodhi's batting potential was talked about when he was first picked and then he didn't seem to improve at all over the last three years or so. Says he's been working on it, great to turn out a huge performance.

Wagner has also always looked a better tail-ender than his numbers suggest. Gets behind the ball better than any of our other tail-enders.
