So regarding the light... IIRC we got through just 45 minutes of session 3 yesterday, but there was some gloomy clouds around. Even if it stays fine, it's hard to see them going much more than 1 hour innit?

Depends. If it's sunshine they'll be able to go till about 5:30 (5:45 if it's the spinners). If it's light overcast I'd say the umpires will be checking their light meters from 4:30 onwards.

Not Terrible
Well it'll be interesting to see if this England Test series ended up being a financial success, the Day-Night Test was seen as a bit underwhelming. Which in part IMO was due to poor scheduling and in part due to the weather ruining the weekend evenings.

Sky is also dying a death so it wouldn't surprise me at all if NZ cricket goes through some pretty dramatic changes. I'd personally pay for a NZ cricket subscription to anyone that picks up the rights to someone televising our games and a few choice internationals. Probably up to $30 a month, I have zero interest in having other sports or channels forced on to me.

Yeah probably only an hour, but it's really hard to see England not nipping out the tail very quickly. NZ need a whole lot more of those plays-and-misses from Sodhi there.

If these two can somehow get through 30 mins and take some more shine off the ball, I'm not sure they will find it so easy to rip through the tail.

Yup, I'd happily pay $30 a month. Jeez I pay over $100 a month atm, and I only have SKY for the rugby/league & cricket.

Yeah I mean for someone like yourself, you may end up paying for a few separate subscriptions (maybe 1 Union, 1 League, 1 cricket sub) but you'd also expect that it'd be easy enough to unsubscribe in the offseasons. We're in a narrowcasting world now, broadcasting will die a slow death.

State Captain
Sodhi missed a trick there. If he was hit on the arm he shoulda made a fuss and got the physio on, mighta killed 5 precious minutes or so

Borges

International Regular
Bowl full at CDG, and he defends like Dravid. Bowl short, and he just can't resist the temptation.

The crowd of 10,000-plus on the first day was outstanding, but yeah, it was a bit of a damp squib after that.
