***Official*** England in New Zealand 2018

do feel like NZ should be pushing on here - nothing crazy mind, but batting is going to get a lot harder in 15 overs time. Need at least another 50 runs between now and then.

Was thinking I'd call 200/5 even stevens, however the second new ball is only fifteen overs away. England were 259 by the time we got it, however we look like we'll be closer to just 220. Still a long way from 300.

Even our weak tail could imo contribute something meaningful in these conditions right now, however against the second new ball it will be much more difficult.

Can see us easily getting rolled for under 50 if we lose 1 wicket here, so need these boys to stay together until tomorrow.

England have been far too effective at tying up these batsmen here, especially De Grandhomme. Accurate bowling and a well thought out field.

I didn't see our bowling performance yesterday afternoon when the ball was old, but sounds like we were nowhere near as good.

Yeah even the singles have dried up. These two have shown great application for the most part but there's the risk of batting yourself into a hole.

Haha the exaggerated positions people take in the spinner debate on this forum have become a meme unto themselves really. I've decided to embrace it with over-the-top confidence in Astle.
You think this is over the top, you should see the comments on NZ news websites on the same question!

Astle's reinvention is amazing, though I'll never forget how he got four consecutive ducks as Canterbury opener in the early days.

I'm still holding out hope for him to go full circle and end up opening in Test cricket after all, even if in a weird bowling-allrounder-as-opener role. CPL has wanted it all along.

The stage is set for a Southee 22(18) against a semi new ball with Anderson being pumped for 13 in an over including a six over cow corner and an outside edge for four

Answer - F*cking rubbish:laugh:
He has performed well under pressure before. 140 not out last innings, give him a break. If anyone needs to go its latham - just pick him in subcontinent or vs weak new ball bowling attacks. He is awful vs good new ball bowling.
