Bit worried about Wood in this scenario. It's not really what he was picked for. Hopefully Anderson going off early means he can come on at Broad's end after he's bowled six or so.

do wonder if what athers said is right and someones had a word in his ear about wasting the new ball with his back of a length shite
I think he's been aware of the need to pitch the ball up for years, but he's just been so consistently ploddy for the last year and the ball hasn't been coming out right.

Suddenly he's in rhythm and the pace is back and it's much easier to hit the natural full length. Not sure it's as simple as a sudden epiphany about where to bowl.

since when has moeen played 50 ****ing tests? didn't he debut like 2 years ago?
Debuted just after 13/14 Ashes. So 50 tests in four years. Standard rate for England players. Cook played his 100th test at Perth in 2013 and his 150th at Perth in 2017.

he clearly did a lot of work on his action between the ashes and this series

Looking forward to see how Nicholls performs under pressure here.

All we've heard about Wood is pace, I haven't seen much of that from him since he's been in the country so also looking forward to see how he goes!! We don't bat deep, so I'm worried.

That looks dead lol

We're getting killed here. Nicolls is never going to be consistent, I don't think he's good enough tbh.

Yeah exactly. If everyone could bowl a perfect length every day they put their bowling boots on then there wouldn't have been much special about Glenn McGrath.
