You say that but Rogers has talked on commentary about the "dark arts" practised in teams he was part ofRecall Chris Rogers imo. There's no way someone who looks like him can cheat or sledge.

Certainly was opening with Renshaw in the Shield final.Really hoping Renshaw makes a big ton this test. Think the kid has so much potential and a great temperament. I wonder if they’ll open with Burns. Hasn’t he been battingin the middle order for Qld this year? If they do they’ll have an all Qld top three.
Renshaw
Burns
Khawaja
Darsh
Maxwell/ Handscomb
MMarsh
Paine
will presumably be the top seven which leads us to a drawn series.
Yeah I'm of the opinion that Handscomb wouldn't be in the best XI, but it would look very strange if they selected all 3 added players and left out the 1 who was actually originally in the squad. Handscomb pretty much has to play for that reason alone.Certainly was opening with Renshaw in the Shield final.
I'd like them to pick Maxwell but Handscomb being in the original squad suggests to me he was next in line, alas.
Optically though he kinda has to stay in the team given the circumstances. Agree that the three that have come in are more likely to score runs, though. Is it possible Khawaja could miss out? In all the mess of the past few days it's been lost that he's had yet another lame dismissal to spin and had another dismal overseas tour; only reached 15 once in 6 innings this series.
This 'Khawaja being crap overseas' thing has gone from being amusing to infuriating. I'd drop him anyway.Optically though he kinda has to stay in the team given the circumstances. Agree that the three that have come in are more likely to score runs, though.
I remember when he was young and just coming through people were going on about how he'll help them win in Asia because of his skills in those conditions . . . just assuming he would be good because he's asian lolIf it wasn't for the mass sendings home, Khawaja would be a certainty to be dropped for Handscomb imo. Now averages sub-25 outside Oz and only reached 30 once in his last 6 overseas Tests.
Unless he gets a big score in this final Test, hard to see how he there can be faith in him for future overseas tours.
Burns hasn't played in the middle order in the shield since god knows when, even before his debut he was opening I think.Really hoping Renshaw makes a big ton this test. A young New South Welshman seems to be the answer to most of Australia's issues when Skull is asked.I was watching Kerry O'Keefe comment he would appoint Gillespie as coach because he would bring love, is much loved and this team needs love. He'd pick Jake Doran at 3 and play Usman as opener because Usman is a born opener and doesn't have the tempo to bat at 3. Then the video finished an I thought about it. Doran at 3? No matter how dire the situation good ole Skull will crack one of his funnies.
I'd only just started following cricket when he debuted, yet somehow the way he got out to Swann in his first innings stayed in my mind as 'trouble against spin'. Now it seems to be trouble against everything. He wasn't exactly hot in the Ashes, against a very docile attack. I'd love to see the Khawaja that played that innings against this opposition at Adelaide again.I remember when he was young and just coming through people were going on about how he'll help them win in Asia because of his skills in those conditions . . . just assuming he would be good because he's asian lol
