Chanderpaul needs a spot too (if we're not restricted to openers).Yeah it seems like we've had 3 since re-admission with G.Kirsten, Smith, Elgar. Others Mark Richardson, Alastair Cook & Justin Langer ?
Gambhir and Taylor other decent lefty openers but not really crabby (definitely more classical). You can definitely stress that for Anwar , Jayasuriya (although fidgety ) and Gayle who stroked away in their own way.
And the fact that he has permanent five o'clock shadow. What give Elgar the extra edge over the other 'crabby' left-handers is his very handsome features.....
Chanders did open some of the time, especially early on and in ODIs, as I recall.Chanderpaul needs a spot too (if we're not restricted to openers).
Think HawkEye done goofed originally. Updated version had it bouncing over the top.So we not gonna see that hawk-eye then? Looked well close.
And he edged to 1st slipElgar's been truly fantastic today. From the get go.
Then stay away from posting for the rest of the day pleaseI want another big hundred from AB.

I did think we were talking only openers as there seems to be high proportion of left-handed one's.Chanderpaul needs a spot too (if we're not restricted to openers).
Remember him getting 150 opening the batting against us in one of the ODI series here in SA. Was it their first full tour here late 90s ?Chanders did open some of the time, especially early on and in ODIs, as I recall.
Every little bit helps....This series might break Smith a little bit.
Yes, I remember that. I think it was their only win of their ODI series (I think we won 6-1).I did think we were talking only openers as there seems to be high proportion of left-handed one's.
