Starc with a new rock often knocks leg stick over with some nice shape into the right hander. He's taken stacks of poles like this because batsmen can't get their cues down in time. It's marvelous to watch.

Incorrect use of stick there.

Starc with a new pill often castles right handers with some nicely shaped nuts. He's taken stacks of poles like this because the batsmen can't get their sticks down in time. It's bloody marvelous.

They also seem to say "pumps him down the ground for six" whenever a spinner gets hit. Doesn't make sense to me at all.

I also dislike 'decked' and 'deck' for seam movement. 'Moved' or 'seamed' or 'cut' (for that rare time that someone actually bowls a cutter) are all better terms.

I wonder what inspires certain terms? I can understand 'cherry' for new ball, and 'rock' at a stretch, but 'pill'? What kind of pills were they taking? Horse pills? Really big suppositories? LSD?

Nothing bothers me as much as the ridiculous explosion sound effect they add to slow motion replays...

''Tonked'' annoys me also.

Tonked has been around for decades. At least since the 70s. I recall Roy and HG describing a David Hookes innings back in the 80s with something akin to "Australia was deep in trouble at 3/16 when Hooksey walked in and did what only Hooksey could - go the tonk. And it was a magnificent 18 of 8 balls before he was eventually caught on the deep midwicket fence with the score a far more respectable 5/38".
