Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
It was interesting to see some footage of Rabada back in the U19 days, he was bowling damn well but was generally fairly sedate in his wicket celebrations. One has to wonder if Faf du Plessis is actively encouraging this sort of attitude, seems like Rabada has gained far more aggression in a relatively short space of time.
Well he doesn't seem like a Mitch Johnson type, who seemed barely at any sort of ease with his on-field aggression.

He'll mellow over time, especially if he keeps missing out on matches.

Even if FdP hasn't actively encouraged it, I'd question whether he's done enough to calm him down. Ultimately down to Rabada though, and he's got no-one but himself to blame if he does cop another ban. Shame, but maybe he'll eventually learn not to behave like a complete idiot.

True, but I don't think Warner's ever got himself banned for misbehaving during a match.
Actually I quite liked his comment during his comeback match in the 2013 series, something along the lines of getting out for taking a swing at Joe Root again, which showed a bit more self-awareness than he's sometimes given credit for.

I wonder whether it's because Rabada's felt the need to step up in Steyn's absence to lead the attack and in doing so has gone a bit too far. I do hope someone can get him back in line as it's not good for the team to be constantly getting into trouble like this, not will it good for him to develop a reputation as it means that disciplinary decisions that could go either way, like this one, might end up going against him more often than not..

Geez Ravi fired Amla awfully quickly there. Would have thought, y’know, a moment’s doubt about it being outside the line might have been recommended. Good bit of bowling, though.

Considering Ravi giving absolutely nothing especially with 50/50s in the first test - it does make you wonder.

I thought Ravi was 3rd umpire for this game.
Gaffney is ill. Hopefully he makes a quick recovery for tomorrow.

Old fella’s had enough of our **** - the only option in the face of overwhelming odds is total defiance.

Thread's a bit dead apart from discussing controversies which is weird because everyone seemed to want to move on to the cricket.
