Brendan Taylor lone fight if there ever was one early doors

Zhuwao will quack it up the rest of the games he plays.

Marlon Samuels came in at 2/191 after 28.1 overs and made 15 from 34 balls. Such a Marlon-knock.

Waller can't be dropped soon enough.
Haha, disagree given the squad selected really. I don't think Moor or another bowler is going to offer more in this role.

Williams - sure, but I don't think he's available yet and I'd rather drop Zhuwao first.

That ended quickly

Suppose I would have had Moor/Murray open with Mire.

Williams defo in for Waller when back fit. Waller has actually played 79 ODI's now averaging 19. Oh man he is lucky.

Waller's development as a player has really disappointed me, but I think if the top order actually did its job he could be really useful just hitting at the end. When he's been asked to do that he's tended to do okay. As a #7 who bowls a bit I don't think Zimbabwe are going to find better right now, unless they're resigning themselves to the need for someone to score 30 (50) in the position to semi-rescue the innings (which I think is even more defeatist than having me argue Waller should be playing ).

This 100%. I don't know what goes on in that head of his. We just made a big score but it was basically all boundary hitting. I see no evidence of an improved ability to rotate the strike. Until we do that we will be in the lower echelons of ODI cricket with the occasional competitive match when Gayle or Lewis fire.

Good innings from Hetmeyer though, it's great to see his development continue. Just wish I could have seen it, I love watching him bat.

HK nabbed 6 wickets but 91 was never going to be enough runs.

Exciting first round of games all around by the look of it
