Aussies going to cry victim again. Like they did in Sydney 2008 and in McGrath-Sarwan incident.

We needed Tendulkar there to initially hear everything then not hear anything which went on.

You guys need to look up the Indian Victim Complex Thread. Was a cracker. it went as far back as Gavaskar in the Windies in the 70s.

Will Cape Town still be there come the third test? I heard they had some rain recently which is good news, but has it made any noticeable difference to the water crisis?

huh? It's a lot more relevant than Starc's "scalp distribution" given Starc's is from like 40 matches and Wasim's is from over 100. Still early days in Starc's career.

And as you ignored from the previous post, it's more representative of Starc's role in the team. Looking at those stats and deciding "he isn't good at getting out the middle order" is just ignorant.
I haven't ignored Starc's role in the team. I've stated that he is a impact bowler and should be used as such.

I've covered Starc's 40 vs Wasim's 100 by saying his role will likely change as he gets older.

Per top_cats comment, I'm not trashing Wasim's record, which is good, I'm trashing his wicket distribution, which is bad. I doubt that there is a bowler with anywhere near his wicket tally with as high a percentage of tail end wickets, but if there are, there aren't many. Specifically picking out the worst is not the way to make a comparison.

I'm not to sure what point you are trying to make here. I'm not complaining about Starc's percentage of top order wickets. It never occurred to me, because I've watched him bowl with the new ball. I've also seen him bowl with an old ball before it starts reversing, and it is definitely not his strength. His distribution of wickets confirms what my eye tells me. He has strengths and weaknesses, and it is OK to admit this. I've picked the same strengths and weaknesses out in Steyn - not exactly an unfavorable comparison to make.

If Starc gets his career average down to around 25 he'll definitely go down as an ATG IMO. He's just an incredible threat if there is any movement through the air. If anything he'd be even more successful if he was a Pakistani bowler instead of an Australian, given the lack of swing we get.

Australia just bossed a Test match completely from the second day onward and most of the talks isn't about the cricket. Quite frustrating. This is my issue with sledging, everyone has a different "line" that they don't want to be crossed. If QDK really said what Warner claims then that is a dick move, but surely Davey boy had to have made peace with her past before they got hitched. Don't get me wrong I'd be pissed if I were him, but is it worth it getting violent over someone making petulant comments? Especially as someone in the public eye. There's too much of a Grey area here.

Personally really enjoyed the work done by Cummins in this Test. If he stays fit he will definitely be Australia's best bowler in the near future. He just seems to always be thinking about his bowling.

You're still completely missing the point. Having a low(er) percentage of middle order wickets is not a weakness. It's a statistical side-effect of his particular strength of getting out tailenders better than other bowlers.

As I said, you wouldn't even consider this "weakness" if he was simply worse at getting out tailenders because his percentage of middle order wickets would be higher as a result, even though he wouldn't actually be getting them out more.

It's starting to seem as though you don't understand how math works.

Davey set himself up for this kind of sledging when he married someone with that past. I know everyone's already said it, but he really needs a thicker skin. Whether or not QDK's was a dick move doesn't matter because Warner needs to be more mature at handling these situations.

btw I'm not saying Starc doesn't have weaknesses, he has plenty (ftr I probably rate him lower than almost every other cricket fan on the planet). But that's not one of them.

Reminds me how the Australian media tried to demonise Sarwan when he replied to McGrath's vile sledge by saying "ask your wife".

Ah, I don't think that's quite the same. Someone having a go at your wife who is ****ing dying of cancer is a bit different than for having a wife known for sucking blokes off in the toilets at nightclubs

Sarwan did not know McGrath's wife had cancer. He only asked McGrath to make the same inquiry to his wife as McGrath made to him.

In the unwritten canons of cricket, there's no obligation on the part of the sledgee to make inquires about the state of health of the sledgor's spouse, when retorting to a sledge.

I'm just saying McGrath's response was a bit more understandable

Interesting tha tone of the Grade Cricketer writers said today that what people saw of Warner is precisely what people have been putting up with from him in Sydney Cricket for years.

I know a bloke who Warner punches on with in a grade match a number of years back, and while the other protagonist copped a two match ban, Warner’s was suspended as he had a Shield game coming up. No wonder he feels entitled
