The only thing which has dragged on longer than the Australian summer of cricket is this Stokes saga.

Just saw the clip of Stokes mocking Katie Price's disabled son. Not hard to see he'd act like a right plonker on the turps. Far less sympathetic of him after seeing that. Sort of mockery you'd expect from a 10 year old kid tbh.

He'd be locked up with the history he's had already if he wasn't a cricketer, he's a thug plain and simple.

I wonder who leaked that, a mere day after the Bristol incident?

I see the judge refused his request to use court back door. Good to see, celebs shouldn't get special treatment.

At least it means the press will know they don't have to cover the back door as well, as obviously they wouldn't have thought of that one 8-)

Stokes must be a really esteemed character for Australians: he is basically a hybrid of your two favourite nationalities in the world, Kiwi and Pommie.

So he's pleaded not guilty to the affray then. Looks like this will drag out a fair while longer.

It took the British police five months to charge him, in an open-and-shut investigation where they had the actual footage of the incident, so this thing should drag on for decades.

If it were as clear cut as you’re making out it would’ve been charged earlier and he’d have pleaded guilty under advise from his legal team.

Well we'll await his reasoning there...

But my point still stands about this dragging on for ages.

It isn't really an open and shut case because you can't make a judgment on what was going through the minds of the protagonists from the footage alone
