Our openers have been ****ing **** in this series.. even Sehwag through his struggles was usually good to average 20 odd in these conditions and sometimes chip in with a useful 30 before nicking off... these clowns have done nothing. We'd literally have been better off sending tailenders up to open.

Yea have no idea why Shami doesn't open the bowling with Bhuvi
There are many unexplainable decisions taken in this series, not playing Rahane, dropping Bhuvi, opening with Bumrah, making Hardik bat at 6 (for that matter even playing him in all 3 tests), and they do look bad when they are not working...hopefully this trip will make Kohli a better captain in the future...

Vijay, Dhawan, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, Rahul, Karthik, Ashwin, Bhuvi, Shami & Ishant was the combination I hoped they would go with...but then, hopefully, Bumrah, Parthiv & Hardik will make me swallow my words...it's not over yet by any means...

I still think South Africa have the balance of their team fundamentally wrong. With the fire-power they can call on, they just don't need 5 bowlers (at least not in these conditions), and Philander is just not a test number 7.

it is over really...does anyone seriously think we have a chance of saving this test now, forget winning it? it's sad but hey once all the overseas beatdowns are complete, let's go back home, prepare slow, low turners that start cracking up on the 3rd or 4th day and destroy any and all opponents, and life will be good again!

And based on his recent form de Kock isn't ideal for no. 6 either.

Disagree completely. If you have 5 class bowlers like sa you have to pick them. Hope they are this aggressive vs aussie too. Having another batsman there would be a defensive move.

Murali Vijay is certainly the ''Indian James Vince''. Just put the ball up there for the cover drive and he'll nick it, guaranteed.

"To play test cricket on this surface is unfair ...saw it in NZ in 2003 ...batsman have minimum chance ..icc should look into it." - Ganguly moaning on Twitter.

If they pick five out-and-out bowlers on sporting decks against Australia they'll lose.

187 is not a trivial amount on this surface, its doing tons, and South Africa will have to bat well to get a lead. They should also be disappointed that they didn’t bowl out India for less, had more than enough opportunities.
