Rohit's issues are technical too. He relies so heavily on being able to hit through the line, he's constantly leaving gaps between bat and pad and reaching for deliveries that move late. He doesn't seem to have a solid defensive game anymore. Makes him a liability anytime the ball moves.
Pujara has loads of technical issues as well. Doesn't move his back foot at all, bottom hand is way too heavy and he's crap at finding ways to score off back of a length deliveries.

Pujara's technical limitations don't hinder him from surviving tho. He's not going to essay booming drives against a swinging ball like Kohli or Rahul, but's compact enough in his defence that he isn't a walking wicket in these conditions. When the conditions get better for batting he has the game to score.
Oh please. If selections had been sensible and batting too, India could have won either of the tests. Both games were fairly competitive. So this team is far far away from the embarrassment Sri Lanka is overseas.
