I was thinking the same thing. It's basically signalling you've given up. Although I can understand they might have wanted to see what would happen with the leggie and a hard ball.

Following up with Ali was clearly giving up however.

You'd think Anderson would have one more over after the last one. And Broad goes for four first ball.

This is the scg not the SC and he is young. At least give your 2 senior seamers a few overs of the rock to challenge the bats before you try spin.

Massive props to Anderson. What a thankless task. He’s been fantastic again.

Jimmy, come over to the pool mate. If they won’t take the catches, what’s the point?

@TNT

yeah was still given a 20 test trial period before he delivered a century though
Thats the way it is with some players, I remember watching Mitch when he was 16 and it was clear then that he would one day be special. He may or may not go on with it but it would be criminal not to take the chance unless you have proven performers to keep him out of the team. If this is the turning point for him then Australia have one hell of a batsman.

is anyone else who was originally excited at the prospect of good slow, 50 strike rate careful cricket at the start of the series happy that Marsh is showing a bit of intent again?

At the end of the day boundaries just entertain me more than leaves and blocks

It has been quite a grinding series really. This Aussie side doesn't have the flair of the great sides of the early 00s.

One thing we have always known is that Mitch Marsh can hit a cricket ball. Nice to see him tighten his defence.

40 degrees with only 20% humidity isn't that hot. Just keep your fluids up and wear a big hat.

30 degrees in 80% humidity (i.e. every game in Queensland) is far worse to play in.

Twin Marsh tons. Combined with Pandya's effort against SA last night, cricket is finally, truely dead and buried.

Lovely to see the brothers get their tons together.

When was the last time that three Australian batsmen made a century without Steve Smith being one of them?

And FMD that was a good nut.
