Can't trust a thing the speed gun says these days. A slow floater Broad delivery that over was apparently 138kph, to go with Hazlewood supposedly bowling nearly 150 last game. Complete bull****

Warner's Roads.
Are you having a stroke?

That leg glance for 4 was the perfect ball from Anderson. Swung in a bit, perfect line and length, most batsman would be hard pressed not to get out lbw to it.

Smith hits it through forward square leg for 4

I reckon if his bottom hand wasn't wounded he would have middled that. Looked weak as hell.

That's actually come off the middle of his bat, or close to it. For some reason the face was just closed completely to the leg side when he played the shot.

Classic MCG wicket though. Chop-ons and lbws

Curran decided to no ball Warner so his first test wicket could be Smith instead.

Smith's wicket was really out of the blue and you get the feeling that despite him scoring 76 it was a failure. Which is bizarre really but with the form he is in it feels like he got out for 20, not 76.

That's the Mmarsh we know. A proper return to form. Why spin when the balls still new? Only 4 overs last night iirc.

This is the worst test pitch in Australia by miles. Slow, little bounce and very little sideways movement at all. Hard to score runs and hard to get blokes out.

And they inflate the crowd numbers too. If there were 88k or whatever they said the number was yesterday I’ll eat my hat.

Worth noting that if Curran is indeed as close to the Marsh family as the comms suggested he may get a call up for Australia in Sydney.
