I'm only following on Cricinfo, but there seems to be a clear trend in Bracewell's bowling that is oh, so familiar. If the description starts with the word "FOUR", it is usually followed by the word "short". Sigh. Did he not notice what happened in his first over?

Haha is this what he's been bowling domestically lately? He opened the bowling a couple of times last season; I can't imagine he was bowling this ****.

What did Munro bowl at the very start of his FC career when he was a specialist bowler in FC cricket? I know some dibbly dobbly sorts have risen through the ranks over the years but I just can't comprehend how Munro would ever get noticed and graduate to FC cricket on the strength of his bowling.

....I'm assuming Munro came through the ranks due to his all-round skills and just got initially shoehorned into the Auckland side in an unfamiliar role with a view to him being in the set-up in future.

It just seems like a decade-plus later people are still surprised that he can bat because "did you know he started out as a number 11?"

What is he bowling? 120k low-bounce outswingers is what I expect from Munro.

If he's bowling slower rubbish and a lot of change-ups then imo that would be an improvement over the above, which is extremely hittable.

he bowled standard medium fast. Recall him bowling 125kph seam up on test debut against SA.

The latter I assume (not watching). I just can't envisage him ever making FC cricket on the strength of the former. Just everything about his run-up, action etc, it doesn't even look like he's trying to be a "proper" bowler.

Tastle definitely quicker through the air than he was a couple of years ago when he was Floaty McFloatface.

Good bowling there, two legspinners then the wrongun and Hetmeyer couldn't resist the heave.

I remember him bowling on test debut too but even that stuff didn't look like something that would get someone an Auckland gig. I've seen Munro bowling live and wouldn't look twice if he was rolling those down in Senior As. I'm probably just over-estimating NZ domestic cricket.
