Keeper's catch?Wagner to Ambris, FOUR, top-edge, straight through the cordon. Short ball again, gets too big on him, comes on right at his face and he plays a hurried hook. Between first slip and keeper
Wasn't bad, actually came off the helmet on the slo-mo I believe.Sounds like some hostile bowling from Wagner this morning.
To those listening on radio, how bad was this?
Keeper's catch?
Ambris continues to really struggle against short ball.
Taylor was the only slip and was at second; the ball went above head height through where first slip would normally be - don't think either could have got to it tbh.Sounds like some hostile bowling from Wagner this morning.

Can't really think of a worse start to a test careerAmbris on his way to hospital. He must just think cricket ****ing sucks right about now.
There's a lot of coming and going. Guptill injured, Worker to open. Williamson only playing first ODI - can't believe Broom is the backup batsman ffs. Santner has shoulder niggle so will miss first match. Southee will have a rest after first ODI. Maybe it's a 'rest'.Black Caps ODI squad v West Indies:
Kane Williamson (c) (1st ODI only), Todd Astle, Trent Boult, Neil Broom (2nd & 3rd ODIs only) Colin de Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Adam Milne, Colin Munro, Henry Nicholls, Mitchell Santner (2nd & 3rd ODIs only), Tim Southee (1st ODI only), Ross Taylor, George Worker.
Yeah it's a shitter. Really should have been wearing an armguard. That's like painting a bullseye on your arm.Ambris on his way to hospital. He must just think cricket ****ing sucks right about now.
Don't even need to get that optimistic IMO. Papps,Woodcock, Hamish Marshall. They'd all have been goodBruce, Phillips and Chapman; there's three names I would've prefered to see rather than Broom for a random ODI series.
