SL has indeed been very weird in the last year and a bit..Before the Pak tour I really thought the Aus win was just a one-off. Because in between those tours have seen some really low points in SL cricket.

The side, the board, selection, leadership has been in complete turmoil. It still IS. Just a couple of days ago the sports minister said he would dissolve the board if it doesn't fall in line.

I totally expected us to get our arses handed to us on this Indian tour but it's been a pleasant surprise to be honest. I know we got wiped in the 2nd test but otherwise, we'd done well. That entire pollution fiasco played into our hands cuz at that time in the game we were staring at a Kohli triple and a massive total.

I think what this tour has shown is that SL has some decent cricketers but the selectors need to take responsibility and give those guys a decent run, without falling back to the tried and failed players.

Dimuth, Kusal M, DdS, Roshen, Sadeera, Mathews, Chandimal, Dickwella are a pretty good line. With support from players like Asela G. The seam attack shows progress and can go further as long as they stay fit I guess. Spin is a worry with Herath coming to the end of his career.

With Hathurusinga now signing on - hopefully this ushers in a more stable environment outside the team that everyone can benefit from.

Chandimal has a long way to go before he can be spoken of in the same breath as Sanga.

He's still behind, Sanga, Mahela, Sanath, Marvan, Thilan, Mathews and Aravinda for me.

SL is a pretty decent team. Problem is none of SL's strengths are India's weaknesses. India is kind of like a better version of SL hence SL will keep finding it hard against Ind. But I'd still back them to defeat the non-SC teams at home. This is similar to how NZ can beat the SC teams at home but lose to the others everywhere.

What the hell is going on???

Not watching. just checked the score.

18 ball duck from Karthik. Impressive. Is the pitch unplayable?

Personally I'd say -

Rohit
Dhawan
Kohli
Rahul
Pandey
Dhoni
Pandya

is our best bet given that the team seems to have given up on pushing Dhoni up the order, but apparently a couple of bad matches by Rahul get him dropped while Karthik gets to play with a full career of mediocrity behind him.

Deciding that it was okay to miss the first 40 minutes or so of this game seems like it was a horrible decision.
