You could play Rhodes in middle order and have Shrewsbury open. Did Shrewsbury play in middle order much?

Rhodes played pretty much everywhere but he opened significantly more often than he played in any other position. Shrewsbury played anywhere between 1 to 5. His best position seems to be at 3 although he has a good record at 5 as well.

Shifting them about should be ok tbh, but I don't see why Shrewsbury is considered an opener, while Rhodes is more of an opener than anything else. If you scroll to the bottom of these pages you can see their batting position stats.

Rhodes - http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/19376.html?class=1;template=results;type=batting
Shrewsbury - http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/20179.html?class=1;template=results;type=batting

SillyCowCorner1 had one pick to catch up - I've left Billy Barnes in above, though you can replace this with Phil Mead if you want.

jimmy101 has timed out; kingkallis doesn't time out for a couple of hours yet.

Cricketer Of The Year
I'll take Frank Woolley, who thankfully somehow managed to avoid playing against Archie Jackson in 1930.
