Bangladesh are a good side at home tbf. I don't think there's much shame in dropping tests to them and I would say 1-1 was an okay result for both England and Australia if we look at it objectively and without preconceptions as to what Bangladesh used to be like.I think we can all agree that Australia is nowhere near the top side as long as they keep losing matches against Bangladesh of all teams
Under rated post. You voted for Barnaby didn't you Haze.
ThanksOh well, if well known arbiter of relevant and quality posting OS says it’s ok then so be it.
We had a poster last time out here who was absolutely convinced England were still going to win the series (and genuinely so) when they were 5 down in the last dig at Perth chasing 500-odd. Was weird tstl.GIHM, Living up to his sig....
At one stage they were tracking for a lower first innings score than they managed in the innings where Johnson was bowling at roughly the speed of sound, which would have been... inadequate.England's bowling has atleast put Australia under pressure at times, the batting has just been completely spineless so far. Was worrying how Root and Cook were batting today.
That's pretty racistIMO anyone who doesn’t support either team should be banned from this subbie
Will make an exception for StephenZA because he’s a nice lad
Daemon can stay too.
The worst posters in this subbie have been ***** and Shri, no mean feat given Burgey’s prolific posting
Isn't Daemon the same race as you and Shri? That's pretty racist
Heh, it’s normally the other way round with England fans. I remember a sense of panic creeping in during any big partnerships in the fourth innings at The Oval in 2009 for example. We had a poster last time out here who was absolutely convinced England were still going to win the series (and genuinely so) when they were 5 down in the last dig at Perth chasing 500-odd. Yep. Like 2013 all over again.England's bowling has atleast put Australia under pressure at times, the batting has just been completely spineless so far. Was worrying how Root and Cook were batting today.
In fairness you’ve not been too bad, you can stay but are limited to five posts a dayThat's pretty racist
I remember being genuinely hopeful when Ponting started to get going in that last innings. Then he took a dumb single and some hack fluked a run outHeh, it’s normally the other way round with England fans. There’s always generally moments of hope in those 500 chases, usually accompanied by a ‘records are meant to be broken’ mentality. The truth is even if your openers get a 200 partnership chasing something like that down, the odds are still stacked against you. I remember LT calmly arguing with everyone about it overnight just after that Aussie innings had started in 09. There were panicking Englishmen after we’d bowled poorly for an hour and excited/optimistic Aussies. He strolled in and told them all the game was over, forget about it.I remember being genuinely hopeful when Ponting started to get going in that last innings. Even then though I didn't really lose hope until Clarke, who had been monumental in that series, really did get fluke ran out about 10 minutes later.
Yeah. Although I think everyone was genuinely wondering if it was going to happen when Clarke and Haddin put on that huge partnership at Lord's. You felt that one more good session and it'd be on for young and old. There’s always generally moments of hope in those 500 chases, usually accompanied by a ‘records are meant to be broken’ mentality. Yeah that one was terrifying. I couldn’t sleep that night, had a dream about the cricket and everything.Yeah.
