***Official*** 2nd Test at Adelaide

International Debutant
Not all conference players, a lot of part time clubs in the division. But the top players at Tranmere are in 50-60k I believe and we aren’t necessarily the highest payers.

Not sure this is completely true. Cole Stockton left us for Hearts, turning down L1 clubs in the process. And his contract with us was signed when we were higher up the pyramid. Would suspect he would have signed on for a fair rise.

Anyway, the amount of money in the English game is not a silly comparison, it’s the whole point. You can be a lot worse at football than cricket and still earn more doing the former.
Yeah I’ve misremembered.

Average Hearts player makes £95k a year.

English football is a ridiculous thing to compare to anything financially though, because there’s an obscene amount of money kicking around.

Outside of the Old Firm, Scottish Premiership players don’t make any more then County Cricketers.
Pretty sure most Scottish Premiership teams can pay wages on a par with League Two down south, possibly some in League One.

Point stands. Being a cricketer is a financially astute decision in Aus as compared to their other domestic team sports.
