Australia bat last.. looking at how Pakistan of all teams went last year, that might not necessarily be a significant disadvantage at this venue. If Australia get a 50+ lead, it could go similar to the India match in 2014. We had them 6 or so down with more than 150 runs to spare and ended up conceding a first innings lead.

That pitch by Day 4 was really hard to bat on though. We ended up chasing a small score about 5 down.

Holy *** Steve Smith, machine.

And how often does the Australian tail do this to opposition? This will be getting beyond annoying for England. A 60 run lead with Australia having to bat last would have been a really handy advantage.

All of a sudden I miss the "A ship in the harbour is safe, but that's not what ships are built for" ad from the 2015 Ashes.

England bowled poorly in that session. Released the pressure of the morning.

Smith and Cummins batted well.

Cummins reminds me a lot of Smith. His batting is defo the strongest part of his game. I suspect, like Smith, he will eventually give up the ball and concentrate solely on cementing his place in the Australian top order.
