Well that was a really good day’s play on an pretty boring deck. Hard test cricket, good graft and blokes putting a price on their wicket.

I know I said this earlier but Lyon's bowled beautifully today, best I've ever seen him bowl.

He'd have about 3-4 wickets to his name if he had a half decent arm ball going imo.

Very tough day of cricket, 4/196 not the sort of score you'd expect off 80 overs in the modern era.

Hard to say who won - England probably would've wanted 250-300, Australia probably wanted close to 10 wickets. Maybe an England advantage? New ball will be interesting tomorrow, needless to say.

If it was given out it would be an incorrect decision.

Mostly because there's a lot of umpire's call decisions that hit quite a lot of leg stump. If you're using that as umpire's call than stuff that's barely missing should count too.

Yea seriously, they left so many deliveries quite comfortably at the end. A decent armball and he could have O'Keefe'd them, or atleast get them playing at deliveries they could leave.

I wasn't watching close enough to see if he attempted to scramble the seam on some of his deliveries. Usually works as a good alternative to a proper arm ball. If he didn't try it, it might be worth giving it a go next time he's bowling so well.

Watched the whole day play and am invested in the idea of watching tomorrow. Longer that feeling stays, the better.

Cliche but the first hour is so crucial tomorrow. If Australia get a couple of early wickets the tail could fold against a newish ball. If they don't the lower order could actually make hay tomorrow afternoon against tired bowlers.

I was impressed with how Malan dealt with any width against the quicks later on after he got a working over from Lyon. A lot of blokes would have shut up shop or found a way to get out, but he played some shots. That’s a good temperament imo

I don't know how to judge today. Scoring wasn't very easy but there was very little movement - I still feel this is a 400 deck. I reckon Australia might be slightly ahead.
