Something to think about anyway. Clearly values his wicket and can play quality bowling.

You wouldn't want your keeper opening the batting long term imo, but he is one guy who can give us a lot of flexibility in the coming years. Being a FC capable keeper plus opening bat means he should at very least go on most tours as a reserve.

IF Bancroft is a reliable & promising keeper (FTR, I have no idea as have never seen him keep) then he should be picked as he is the best batsman by some distance and all the others have failed

His keeping is at least on the same level as the Angry Ant.

He basically fell off the radar a couple of years ago due to a very bad run of form. But if he can keep and his batting mojo has returned them by all means pick him. But of he is picked he needs to be given an extended run - 20+ tests and can't be dropped after a short drop in form.

Who is Show? Maxwell?

If so, it's hardly doing the same thing over and over. He's literally never played a home Test before.

Or does Show somehow mean Marsh or Wade or something?

I meant, he's not really the type of specialist batsman they need at 6.

Show is like a scratchie: on the rare occasion he may pay-off, but in most cases you're gonna end up with eff-all.

Yeah but as PEWS said its a dumb argument for Maxwell. Bloke has only got to play tests in Asia. Hardly a fair assessment for an Australian bat. Give the bloke a couple of home tests
