Rollins and Ambrose coming up the ramp at the end of the show, battle worn (win or lose) and coming face to face with Balor and AJ?
FMD. Why is the world not actually cool enough for that to happen.
The other option is that Gallows and Anderson come out -- one attacks Finn, the other attacks AJ, they get confused and leave.

Haha yep, they've screwed up 3 huge angles in one go. Woeful stuff. Did they really have no one else but Kurt to take that spot? Seems like a massive waste.
Nope they had nobody else and that is entirely there fault. Next in line would be Jordan and Matt and neither are exactly on fire atm. Jeff if fit could have slot in, but he was been booked rather blandly before he got injured so no on him also. What would have you done Yesterday in there situation?

Not trying to be a prick here as I doubt they would have wanted to blow the return of Kurt like this, but they really had few options.

The fact they had to go to SD to get Finn's new opponent also is pretty grim also.

The show had always been a one match PPV and once a vital cog of that went down **** was going to hit the fan.

Hey fair enough if they had no one. I'm just saying they shouldn't have put themselves in a situation like this in the first place. The fact that they have no real babyfaces who can replace someone who goes down with injury is just a massive indictment on them.

I dunno, I'm sure the show will actually be good but it's an annoying trend that's been developing lately of them doing these big matchups with no real build.

I just think they should have taken the L. Everyone would have understood and the card is subject is change. It's too late to really move tickets. People woulda flown in for Angle's debut imo but they can't on two days notice, so I don't buy that. Drumming up interest, sure, but it just doesn't seem worth burning up both Angle's return and Styles/Balor for a show that clearly WWE itself didn't have big hopes for prior to everyone getting sick. Indeed I'd buy that this is simply a reaction to everyone lambasting the crappy card. Changing the main event to Dean/Rollins vs the Bar which then has interference from the others and ends with Angle taking a bump would have been fine

(It also seems like a bad idea to send a SD guy to a Raw roster and send him back to SD when there's probably Raw guys infected but not yet sick enough to not compete)

Agreed on all that, its entirely there fault they are in this situation. Ultimately its a top guy and a midcard jobber down and they have had to go to the other show and get Angle out of retirement to keep interest in the show. In an ideal world that would wake up Vince to see the problems with the current show. Vince I hope is old school enough to know that Angle's first WWE match been wasted like this is crazy.

Probably doesn't help that there champion only wrestles now and then also.

Longer term, sure. In this case, not so much IMO.

The combination of a) having the top two remaining babyfaces in the match already and b) it being 5-on-3 means you can't replace Roman easily. If this is Roman vs Brock, sure, you drop in Seth and you're fine. But when Seth and Dean are already in the match, the point of the match is that it's an all-star team up against five guys, and the only way to get Finn up there is to re-shuffle the card in it's entirety, I can see why they'd go for a part-timer.

The point of the five-on-three is that the three are so ****ing good that you need five to even try to stop them. That doesn't work with any old Roman replacement -- if you drop in Big Show or Slater or Apollo or someone, it just gets stupid. They need someone with instant credibility, and, more importantly someone who isn't a risk of replacing Roman beyond the match.

The biggest problem is that this entire event was so, so, so strongly centred around the Shield. The issue is less that they don't magically have a fifth or sixth top-tier babyface to fill in when Roman goes down, but more that they now don't have the Shield and they have to find something equivalent to that to make the entire concept of the match work.

Roman getting sick is obviously impossible to plan for, but the fact is they have only 2 guys on the same level as him, one is a part timer winding down his career in Cena and Brock who wrestles rarely for huge money.

They have plenty of heels they could rush into top spots if they needed, but they have no faces as you can see with Zayn they can only really book heels properly bar one or two exceptions.Obviously we hope Roman is back sooner rather than later, but it be interesting to see what would happen if if he was out for a few months.

I like that they went with a competitive match rather than a squash. Probably got the offense ratio slightly off, though. Asuka probably needed to get a bit more in there.
