Glad I don't support South Africa. I'd be pulling my hair out at the way they go for red inkers instead of hitting out before a declaration.

Also a very patronising declaration, but perhaps one that Bangladesh merit.

well in Bavuma's defence his average needs a little padding

I feel that most selectors and pundits look at average above anything else and so players are forced to try and improve this to keep themselves in the side. Positive intent and aesthetically pleasing shots only impress for so long

According to Cricinfo, Tamim didn't field for much of the afternoon session. So is this another case of Du Plessis declaring before one of the opposition's openers is allowed to bat?
Yeah, I think he was up to his tricks again. Got to be on your toes when playing against Faf

This could herald a new tactic for teams to employ against South Africa - if you want to bring the South African innings to a close, send one of your openers off the field and there'll be a good chance of a declaration. Of course, it does mean that you'll need to find another opener...

Scorecard said Shabbir at 11? Is he injured?
As far as im aware the scoreboard is wrong. pretty sure he bats at 7, possibly 6.

Weird sort of day yesterday. RSA had the opportunity to completely annihilate Bang yesterday but it just didnt happen. hopefully Bang avoids the follow on today.

I don't think day two went as well as SA would have wanted, but they did enough to keep a stranglehold on the game.

Looking forward to seeing what Phelukwayo can do.

Just tuning into this Test this morning, Rabada looks in good rhythm, hooping his inswinger to both left-handers and getting the odd one to seam away, going to be a huge test here for Mominul and Tamim.

This fast bowling from KG is why we love the game.

3 LBW appeals, go upstairs for first 2 and not out (2nd one unbelievably) but the 3 rd one they don't and it is hitting. Oxenford is confused himself.
