Presumably that's restricted to those who have represented India?Wouldn't make India's ATXI
I think he'd partner Kapil Dev with the new ball.Wouldn't make India's ATXI
Barnes is a bit of both no?Only thing is whether you need 4 pacemen in an all time attack?
Doesn't matter with Beefy being an allrounder.Only thing is whether you need 4 pacemen in an all time attack?
Yeah, and Botham usually ends up at 6 or 7 in these teams too. You can still pick four pacemen and a spinner if Botham is one of the pacemen, and Barnes is a bit weird. You're basically down to two specialist quicks plus Botham, Barnes and one specialist spinner - seems like a fair balance to me, and Howe still gets Anderson in with that.Barnes is a bit of both no?
They also mean they've been able to play more when they're **** for England than any previous players had to endure though, and playing a bunch of games when he wasn't very good is the primary factor in some people not rating Anderson as highly as others. That is one thing that is not thought about when comparing players from different eras, now the England players play for England first and the odd game for their counties to get match sharp to be ready for England. Snow and all the rest would play a couple of first class games and a Sunday league match between tests with virtually no days off. Central contracts mean Anderson and Broad have been able to play more at their peak for England than previous players could ever dream of.

But great players are more often in good form than otherwise aren't they? Playing more definitely benefits great players overall imo. They also mean they've been able to play more when they're **** for England than any previous players had to endure though, and playing a bunch of games when he wasn't very good is the primary factor in some people not rating Anderson as highly as others.
Botham, Waqar, Gilchrist? But great players are more often in good form than otherwise aren't they? Playing more definitely benefits great players overall imo.
Assuming they played in an era with fewer games, it wouldn't really affect the length of time they played on during their end of career slump would it? Yes they'd play fewer games but it'd have the same impact on their overall career I think.Botham, Waqar, Gilchrist?
There are quite a few great players who would (erroneously IMO) be higher regarded if they stopped playing earlier
