This looks really bad for Bangladesh. Need to have a proper think and come back tomorrow. And give the captaincy to Tamim overnight.

Surprised Warner still had that sort of innings in him. Still I remember the England collapse here last year from a similar position...

Remember when our night watchmen used to make double centuries against this lot? Terrible we've gone into the second innings with a deficit. About time or senior players filled their boots against a side marginally worse than New Zealand.

That's a terribly condescending remark to make. The "lots" have changed on both sides; more a case of how far your guys have fallen than the Banglas have risen.

Bangladesh have come a long way

that 2014 series in south africa is legit his best work overall. was unbelievable
Yeah but when we say "overseas" we don't mean SA or NZ, ie. places where we never lose.

Just like when we talk about "away" for Indian players we generally don't mean playing in Sri Lanka or Bangladesh

But you're right of course

Chandika's favoritism is doing no good. It seems like something is holding up the team despite some recent successes. No doubt Chandika has been awesome for us but there needs to be check and balance procedure. You cant play Soumya and Shabbir like this. Soumya has shown nothing that can be considered as he is getting all these playing opportunities. I know he has some fifties but really he can not be given free ride based on those. Same with Shabbir. Dropping Mominul was totally unfair. These might sound broken record but need to be addressed. Yesterday Soumya played that mad shot with 2 overs left in the day. Totally unacceptable. When someone does that then theres a huge issue mentally and also his technique is flawed. I didnt get to watch the batting today but looking at the scorecard Shabbir's position was changed. Management said they didnt want to break the top order position after SL test that we won then why changing it after one innings? Makes no sense. We were in a position of taking the lead to around 350 but as usual the collapse happened and threw away the winning position. Soumya and ****ing Kayes making things more worse by dropping catches. Shafiul is worthless and Fizz seems to be struggling to get his mojo back. We can not win matches like this.

Exceptional from Aussies today, have clawed themselves into a winning position, don't see them letting it slip from here. Warner and Smith n.o tons.

I don't know much about Bangladesh players, but the one thing that stood out to me this game was the selections. Having a guy like Nasir Hossain playing effectively as a specialist batsman at no. 7 seems strange, when you've got a guy like Mominul sitting out.

And as I said earlier it's a strange team balance. How much did adding a 2nd quick and 3rd spinner really make? At least one of Shaiful or Taijul could have sat out this game (maybe even both) and replaced by 1 or 2 specialist batsmen without taking anything away from the BD bowling effort. But how many more runs could another 2 specialist batsmen have made? Even just going of averages that could have easily have been at least an extra 100 runs for the match which would be match defining.

Anyway you guys are still in prime position, don't let half a session of momentum fool you into thinking Australia are getting ahead. BD should still be strong favourites from here in these conditions.

Yeah, even if you just dropped one of Shafiul or Taijul and brought in Mominul, even if he had an ordinary game and only added say 40 runs over whichever one you dropped, even that could make a big difference.
