Australia's best bet for the Ashes might be to persuade the West Indies to wind Stokes up sufficiently to persuade him to sound off and cop a ban for the 'Gabba
Says a lot that Smith sees himself as someone who needs 'protecting'Why not protect your best asset at the end of a day? Makes all the sense in the world. Given the match situation.
Mind you I think he should bat three anyway. He may as well demoralise bowlers as early as possible.
Smith kept Smith safe, he doesn't need Lyon. The fact that he got out doesn't mean the nightwatchman didn't work ftr. It kept Smith safe which was the whole point.
something something about your mouth writing cheques that your mind cant cashName every last one of them and you'll earn a well-thought out post as thanks.
Steven "Please keep me safe" Smith has a nice ring to it thoughSmith kept Smith safe, he doesn't need Lyon.
I am coming around to the view that Smith actually deserves his runs and is not a lucky ****.Steven "Please keep me safe" Smith has a nice ring to it though

I can cash, because I investigated it myself like a non-casual would and it turns out Gob was accidentally correct when he made that wild assumption.something something about your mouth writing cheques that your mind cant cash
i meant your promise to reply with a well-thought out postI can cash, because I investigated it myself like a non-casual would and it turns out Gob was accidentally correct when he made that wild assumption.
But Lyon has also failed at times, so really I was correct as I thought.

Must have some great pics on his phone. That was the dumbest attempted run from a top order batsman I have ever seen.
It makes you wonder what Uzzie did to be back in favour in these conditions.
As a serious question, since I've not been following Australian domestic cricket at all, who were your other options? I'm assuming S Marsh is considered finished at test level now? That was the dumbest attempted run from a top order batsman I have ever seen.

Both sides are similar, lots of strengths and lots of glaring weaknesses. Think home advantage will see Australia home 3-1 or 3-2 but both sides will get pummelled at some point as both are so fragile at times. So who is less prepared for the Ashes?
Also 1sr lollapse of the series right here. Australia to be all out for less than 100

This series will tell us literally nothing about the Ashes. So who is less prepared for the Ashes?

Can't see Aust getting pummeled at home tbh from England anyways. Would be pretty surprised if they even win a game. Whatever happens here has zero bearing on that series. Both sides are similar, lots of strengths and lots of glaring weaknesses. Same with England vs WI, apart from if we lose it we know the ashes almost certainly aren't going to go well at all. A win doesn't answer any of our questions. This series will tell us literally nothing about the Ashes.
