Yea Handscomb is someone I'd be concerned of. Maxwell is a real X factor too - he definitely could click and cause problems.

Since the trend in ongoing test matches is that teams get to 3 for virtually nothing, then recover quite well, I'd say it was good planning by the Australians to make sure it was arguably their three least important wickets in these conditions that have gone down already

Can't disagree. Root would be up there if he learnt that it is actually allowed to score beyond 99. (And the two stand outs for India - Ashwin/Pujara have much to prove overseas.) No one else comes close.

The fact that he got out doesn't mean the nightwatchman didn't work ftr. It kept Smith safe which was the whole point.
