Yeah well... Its really gonna get our XIs messed up when we play overseas, won't it? Kuldeep most likely to succeed of our spinners but you just cant bank on runs from the lower order, which is usually more crucial overseas. I guess if Ash were to get better as a bowler overseas, it will solve a lot of our issues.

If you were Afghanistan you'd want to play Sri Lanka right now.

This series is honestly quite unprecedented, excluding a few 1-0 or 2-0 wins there have only been a handful of away whitewashes in the last 50 years all of them have been by the 2000s Australians or 1984 West Indians. And at least some of those games were close.

And don't tell me off for jumping the gun, this match is over.

Yeah been astonishingly one sided. I predicted an India win but thought SL would make it tough atleast.

Tbf, some of it is down to SL suffering a spate of injuries (Chandimal ill for the first test, Gunaratne, Pradeep who was their only good pacer this series, and now Herath) and the toss, but it's still a bit ridiculous. These two teams had a really even series in 2015 and since then they've gone in separate directions. Mathews going from an elite batsman to complete rubbish has not helped.

What happened to Milinda Siriwardana btw? He had a couple of impressive games in 2015 but he's not been picked since then for some reason.

Burner

International Regular
After having watched SL last year, this is a bit of a surprise tbh. They are getting pummeled left and right and not just 'losing'. Don't think there was any session in this entire series where SL had held their own.

Bore fest... just a series for the Indians to improve their stats. Like an open-book test.

Congrats Hardik Pandya on your maiden international century.

Arachnodouche

International Captain
Something very West Indian about the way Pandya shapes up to hit the ball. I've only ever seen glimpses of his innings, but from a very high level, his technique seems perfect for violent batting.

There is a pretty good piece about him on crapinfo. For a change, Monga puts out a good insightful and well researched article.

Indian LO squad announced:

India squad

Virat Kohli (capt)
Shikhar Dhawan
Rohit Sharma (vice-capt)
KL Rahul
Manish Pandey
Ajinkya Rahane
Kedar Jadhav
MS Dhoni (wk)
Hardik Pandya
Axar Patel
Kuldeep Yadav
Yuzvendra Chahal
Jasprit Bumrah
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Shardul Thakur.

Not too sure of the balance, tbh. Really unsure why Rahane is still there when Rahul is available. I would have rather kept DK or brought in Raina there. Ultimately we are still missing a really good #4 and with MS showing definite signs of decline, its gonna be hard for us to be a force in LO cricket for a while.

Guess writing is on the wall on Pant as well. Bloke needs a lot more time on the A circuit by the looks of it. Hope he goes well and forces himself back to the side. Pretty obvious MSD is on borrowed time too.

Did think the reason Axar had been called up for the third test was so that he could get around the squad because he had early an ODI recall, was no chance he was ever going to play the test.

Have they actually said that Ashwin and Jadeja have been rested?

As rather dispiriting Sri Lanka’s batting yesterday was, Kuldeep totally mesmerising the SL tail was enjoyable to watch.

Yes, I’d be surprised if there’s even been a 3 Test (or more) series that’s been more dominated by the away side.

Probably West Indies in England in 1984 was the previous record, but even there England in the 2nd Test held the upper hand for the majority of the match and in a couple of the other Tests the match was relatively even after the 1st innings. This has been total dominance from ball one.

Yeah all 4 main bowlers from the tests have been rested.
