Hey, how long is Chandimal out for? Dilruwan making runs makes it tricky for SL next Test as I don't love him in a 4 man bowling attack. Shame that Mathews isn't bowling. Gunalithaka does not look up to it to me but who knows, he'll be better for the experience.

Replace Mendis honestly. His meme knock against Aus has overshadowed his mediocrity for long enough.

Tbf though, I hate his guts.

Mendis is ridiculously young. Barely had much FC experience before playing tests (iirc the Australia hundred was his 2nd hundred ever in FC cricket). Considering that and the fact that SL's entire lineup is trash, he's done ok.

If Mathews hasn't moved up to 4 by this stage of his career I doubt he ever will tbh

Tbf I don't know what happened in this instance as I'm not watching, but umpires have to assume a ball hitting without pitching just carries on with it's trajectory, so I guess hawkeye has to do the same.

He shockingly is better than Kumara, and Gunaratne is injured and won't be batting at all.

which other 2? Gunaratne is out of the test with injury and Herath is injured as well. Pradeep is only batting ahead of Kumara.

Yeah, forgot Gunaratne was injured. I've got used to Herath coming in at 8, so when Pradeep did instead I assumed there was 2 other actual tailenders still to come.

That would work reasonably for pacers but how will that account for spinners, the ball will definitely turn after pitching, can't assume it will go through straight

Probably one of the easiest wins away from India I can remember, outside of the Zim/BD bashings when they were minnows. Long may such wins continue for us. Apart from Dhawan and perhaps the new ball bowlers in their first spells, we never seemed to go beyond 2nd gear and still won handsomely.


Pitches like this are very very bad though. Toss becomes so so crucial..

How will it be covered though, I dont think theres any tech that could predict that situation, they should simply not use hawk eye if ball hits in full

SL is a pretty poor team atm no wonder they struggled to beat zim that had one competent bowler. Bd and WI easily better than Sl atm
