Has anyone already mentioned how their videos almost always tend to have a misleading thumbnail of a player in action, but when you actually click play it turns out to be a droopy eyed dude with a whiny voice in a studio speaking into a cheap microphone that captures all the echoes?
Reminds me of my struggles to find decent highlights on youtube.

cricket.com.au on mobile/facebook is worse. They do that stupid clickbait **** that every faceook "news" site does and leave you with a cliffhanger title like "this former player thinks blah blah blah" and has a picture of 3 players to try and get you to click and find out who it is and it is always some stupid **** that no one cares about.

Wait you can actually get the videos to play?

I don't think I've ever clicked play on mobile because precious data, but they do play on desktop. There was even a phase when they used to auto-play.

Speaking of hosts with whiny voices, I reckon there's more of it in cricinfo videos than in JAV videos.

I find cricinfo videos autoplay as soon as the article's loaded, but any video I actually want to watch will resolutely refuse to budge.

While searching for unrelated articles today I found this:

List of idiot fast bowlers from India

Not sure exactly what the guys' point is, but great title.

Edit: Also a few names I've never heard of. I used to think that Dodda Ganesh, Abey Kuruvilla, David Johnson, Aashish Kapoor was decent for obscure Indian bowlers but it's barely scratching the surface.

Christ, it was written in 1996.

The wheel is eternal.

Yeah, that one sure stood out. I remember once I found an older thread on here and somebody dug out some names of Indian bowlers I'd never heard of to demonstrate how terrible things sometimes got. Must have been interesting being a fan with those sorts of selections.

I didn't know there was an older RP Singh either.

Edit: oh, and specifically I was searching for articles on Bob Willis, who is brought up as the last steady name before England's great cycle of pace bowlers in the eighties and nineties.

Convinced me that sambar / idli
eating people can't be fast bowlers.
Can't really argue with that. :)

Two years back in an
article in SUNDAY , Ravi Shastri mentioned that Vaiyda is the only bowler who
can swing both ways
and is India's best bowler.
Good for him, but I wonder what that has to do with anything.

He's not mentioned there, that was just my barely-scratching the surface list of obscure Indian bowlers, fwiw. Sorry for the confusion.

Whatever it takes!!!
No issues... after a while, all names start blending together. And FWIW, there was an A series in Bangladesh in 1995 or so.. A young Dravid and Ganguly were in the squad and I was sure that Salil Ankola, Prashant Vaidya and Paras Mhamberey along with Venkatesh Prasad were gonna be the golden generation of fast bowlers for us. Ankola was supposed to be a decent bat (#8 types) too. Shows you what happens when you are 11 and think you are witnessing greatness. :p

Hey, I thought Steven Finn might become a great bowler after watching him in that funny ODI series against Aus in 2012. He's done his best to disappoint me since.

Anyone else noticed the the most recent changes to the laws outlaw the double bouncing delivery because it's 'not a good spectacle for the game'. Big shame, cricket needs a little comedy every now and then.
