George is better than Hartley and it's not close any more. He's also the starting hooker for Saracens, who are European champions. Hartley still starts for England because he's captain, and has slowly been playing fewer and fewer minutes before being subbed off. Most people agree we're just waiting for Jones to change the England captaincy in order to play George more.I can't say I entirely understand Lions selection. How does England's second choice hooker manage to be a starting Test player?
Fair enough. I usually just follow internationals, where Hartley was class for a while there. It just looks strange to see two or three English players in the starting Lions XV who don't tend to get into England's. Once the top few choices in each position get on the plane and the tour starts, Test selection is usually about form on tour rather than anything else.
He's probably concussed. It's a fairly ballsy selection from Gatland. I can't quite get on board with the Williams, L at fullback shout, but there's no doubting it's the braver pick than going for Halfpenny.
Williams offers more going forward (at least in theory), but it does rather look like one good game against a weakened Waikato has allowed Wazza to draw a veil over how he's stunk up the tour beforehand. I think we can expect him to be tested out with a few bombs early doors.
No Georgeous George at all is a bit of a surprise, but the great man hasn't looked himself so far and Daly is a great footballer with serious gas. Covers everywhere from 11-15 too, so gives the Lions a bit of flexibility a bench with three backs who're all pretty much specialists wouldn't otherwise have.
Ay. NZ are so very good. Enjoyed the match though. And that Lions try...Yeah the pantsing commenced after about 55 minutes
Maybe if Watson's break early in the second half had been finished off things would have been different. Lions were on top for the first 10 minutes after half time but got no points.
NZ just too good. Sometimes sport ain't fair
Yeah, no surprise to come home to this score. I actually told my son that a 15 point margin of NZ victory was the likeliest outcome, and so it turned out.Yeah the pantsing commenced after about 55 minutes

Didn't the Scottish beat your lot in Sydney of all places?Australia is the only country that has a prayer of beating the ABs in the near future and that's only if we somehow convince our best kids to play rugby and not league or aussie rules
Won't happen
