Lions tour of New Zealand 2017

That is a tasty match up indeed. Teo v Ngatai could be fun. NMS v North and Ioane v Watson also good viewing. Ihaia West to score a scintillating try after full time to clinch it for the Maori 26-24

Guardian reporting it's actually a grade one tear in Owenaro's thigh.

The mildest type, but it quite possibly rules him out of the first test. Or a starting berth at any rate.

With Hogg probably drowning his sorrows with a wee dram and several pints of heavy, yer Loins are down to two fit stand offs of any description.

I imagine Daly or Payne could fill in in extremis, but would be a foolhardy call not to summon cover now.

No one called up means it must be a short term thing. They can't play the same two 10s here, against the Chiefs and in the first test.

Easy way around that, play Webb at 9 with Laidlaw at 10 for the Chiefs match. Then have your pick on Murray/***ton or Murray/Biggar for the 1st test.

Fair point indeed. I'd completely blanked Laidlaw out of the reckoning for fly half. I think my subconscious is protecting me from the horror of having to consider it.

Guardian reporting up to six new faces are going to be called up as cover for the dirt trackers though, so hopefully Laidlaw as 5/8 for the British & Irish Lions will remain the stuff of nightmares. I guess with Russell being in Oz for the Wobblies/Sweaties test he's fave for 10.

Yeah suggestion of Laidlaw at 10 was completly tongue in cheek :)
Meantime the All Blacks looked rusty, only beating Samoa 78-0

Yeah, he's the 12 of Wazza's dreams. Big unit, decent pace, solid defence and good off-load.

He's the PhD level Dr Bob.

Oh, feck's sake. North and Halfpenny undo ten minutes work in a second. Where was the call?!

McKenzie has an even creepier pre-kick routine than Farrell. Faz just has the crazy eyes, McKenzie brings the serial killer grin to the party
