For a guy who's place is constantly under scrutiny, it's pretty remarkable that Dhawan averages 44 @ 90 in ODIs. Always steps up in the big tournaments too.
One of the best openers in ODI cricket hands down. Don't know why it is under scrutiny. I would rate him second only to Warner and on par with the likes of Hales/Roy/Guptill, if not better.

People confuse Dhawan's T20 performance with his ODI performance. Dhawan is crap in T20's.

I'm pretty sure he was gun in the u19 WC he played in and was leading run scorer. Seems to have this trait from early.

Warner, QdK, Amla, Rohit, Guptill are all better. But he's still pretty damn good.

Was worried about his form coming into this tounrmanet tbh, but those runs in the IPL seem to have helped.

On recent form Warner maybe better but there's no opener in world cricket that stands up to pressure like Dhawan does. No one.

Was the guy who could have won India that 2015 Semis, looking so great, then played a dumb shot to get out.
