Can't discuss how government is too big in political threads yo
It's not even like there's much discussion on Libertarianism though. It's just there are some Libertarian people discussing contemporary politics.

At least we know who'd be second against the wall if their revolution came.

when I despair at a libertarian post i take heart in that the post is only so popular because the guy's just been publicly owned

Nah, it's more that we're talking about some of the most momentous happenings in modern politics, and all some want to talk about is how the government is too big, even if it has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

Again 5 or 6 liberatarians posting their bollocks regularly isn't really representative of any general view, and it stops the rest of us bothering.

Really, honestly do you believe that?

Libertarians are just as annoying as Marxists in that regard.

Like "you know, we wouldn't have this problem if the imperialist swine didn't colonise and subjugate the indigenous populations of the world" and "we wouldn't be in this mess if we had smaller governments, no borders, and a true free market"

like, cool. may be some truth to both, but without a time machine you're not really helping with the problem at hand at all.

Yes these momentous things that have nothing to do with government size

Brexit, basically the leave voters either voted on immigration or rejection of supranational government, the latter very much related to government size

Corbyn, wants to grow the government so that 37% of GDP is in the government coffers, clearly relevant to government size

Hillary and Trump, both authoritarian scum, clearly relevant to government size

There's a common theme yo

Big government is the main problem at hand though

Government has the power to ruin your life with a knock on the door. Any citizen does, of course, but with them it's legitimised
