Haha I remember him going coco bananas in some ODIs out here in the early 80s iirc. Was quite a spectacle.Srikant started it all. 1983.
Is Srikant from Tamil Nadu? Check.
It's KaluSrikant was some thing else completely. Kallu before Kallu.
He should have checked the factsExpecting Pratters to post something right, are we?
okHe should have checked the facts
Ponting was indeed devastating for Australia during his 4 year long decline I agree.Ponting won world cup finals, and was devastating for longer. He is greater than Sachin in ODIs for me.
Sanga has a lower strike rate then what a batsman of his caliber should have, Dhoni I agree with, he could take Ponting's spot. Lara is such a great test batsman I never quite noted him in ODIs :P.You are missing Dhoni, Lara and Sanga in that list. The top 3 (AB, Viv, Sachin) are clearly ahead of the rest.
AWTA. Sachin is still better than AB/Kohli/Amla (the 3 standout ODI batsmen of the current era) for me as it stands. Amazing longevity and had a great combination of destructive ability and consistency.Yeah I think I agree. Tendulkar has the aggregates, but he wasn't quite as destructive as AB can be at times.

You can try and prove me wrong. Ponting's numbers and ability are both superior to AB, it is what it is. The truth can hurt.Translate: I just like Ponting more...
Does that not apply to Tendulkar the most? Two decades of pretty numbers? He is not as successful as Ponting or Viv, Dhoni and Kohli even less so and while Bevan was terrific he does not have the type of longevity or excellence as any number of heart ODI batsmen who could rank in at 5. In fact, Mike Hussey may be the most destructive finisher in the game's history.Top 5 ODI bats:
1. Tendulkar
2. Viv
3. Dhoni
4. Kohli
5. Bevan
Not included: Batsmen who have only pretty numbers and nothing else of note.
