Vishaul is someone I hoped might be able to add some solidity to the middle order pretty much straight away based on what he'd done against some high quality opposition in non-Test games (awesome series in Sri Lanka against Sri Lanka A, also scored some runs against Pakistan in the the tour game before this series) and he looked okay against spin but has some serious technical problems against the seamers. I usually like giving players a long run if they've earned their spot on performance as he has, but I wouldn't complain if he was left out from this point; he's looked awful at times.Thoughts on Hetmyer and Vishaul debut series? They looked like they were 2 years away from being 2 years away. I know Vishaul Singh is already 28, that's not a good thing.
Someone like Blackwood would have been handy this series. Windies will finish with only 2 batsman averaging above 27 with the bat this series. Powell's 161 runs at 26.83 is next best. I suppose in a low scoring series his series is acceptable (in a mediocre way) as he did at least reach 30 in the first innings of each Test but as has so often been the case in his career, he has looked decent but just found poor ways to get out.
Weirdly enough he has so far.Gabriel can't last against Yasir
