Your home ground too ! Should have been down to support then !
I did not realize that the game was on until this morning... and considering there was a something wrong with the wicket, just assumed it was my local ground, normally a good assumption!!!

Match abandoned.... replay tomorrow. But no alternative surface at the ground available so the groundsman has a day to try sort the current surface out???

I haven't been able to watch the game. What was wrong with the wicket?
One side had extreme variable bounce, apparently a crack. Ball was bouncing off a length/full length alarmingly and sometimes quite dangerously (with the occasional shooter). When facing de Lange and Du Preez I know where I would rather not be.....

Missed the game. What was wrong with the pitch? Very embarrassing? What happens now a replay or what?

Replay tomorrow, unfortunately they have to use the same pitch so groundsman has 16h to sort it out ....

Dayyan Galiem looks to be improving with the bat instead of the ball. Andre Nel once said he has the potential to bowl a lot faster than he's currently doing. Another Allrounder to look out for in the future.

Didn't have the best of winter's with the SA Academy last year because they backed him right out of school. But couldn't take wickets but were backing his batting and didn't really get the 100s guys like Leus du Plooy, Jason Smith and Marques Ackerman got for SA Emerging and Zubayr Hamza, Wihan Lubbe, Janneman Malan got for SA Uni team.

Huge politics and financial issues in Western Cape Cricket. But also Kolpak contracted players are going to be an issue with CSA.

I hear Cobras have let Vilas go to the Dolphins and all other Kolpak players have got contracts halved. There has been an issue with senior players so supposedly non-Kolpak seniors have been given take it or leave it offers like Puttick and Kleinveldt. Hence Vilas leaving.

Obviously this follows on from Ramela and Petersen leaving.

How Pieter Malan didn't get a game for the Cobras is also bizarre but hearing Simon Khomari with FC ave of 20 is getting one.

Cobras are just a mess... and that is strange considering the talent and money they have available I don`t quite understand the politics going on even with the quota issues because the other teams seem to be handling it alright. Kolpak is a problem but CSA must just decide how they want to handle it and implement the policy.

So they managed to get the play off game going... so that is good. I would like to see my team win but think that the Knights have a better chance of pushing the Titans in the final and making a competitive game.. so little torn.

It's not easy balancing teams out especially when your region produces players of better quality in other cultures but the investment to bring Ntini's son over is a long-term one. Also keep you eye on a certain Zulu MK2 possibly coming to Cape Town.

But lets be honest this is more than to do with the quotas. WC cricket is run by buffoons like the majority unions are these days bar possibly Knights and Titans and a bit of Warriors I reckon. There are financial issues and administrative issues. What happened with Adams. The coaching structures in senior cricket are not what they used to be. This union has been lucky enough to have Robin Jackman, Duncan Fletcher, Peter Kirsten, Eric Simons, Richard Pybus etc

Alan Dawson finding the place such a joke he quit as chief selector after 2 months.

But I reckon it's all out in the washing. Others will be similar but not out yet. Lions/Dolphins have been a shambles for a while. They keep losing talented players ie Graeme Smith, Dave Miller, Hashim Amla, Kyle Abbott + more. Didn't EP cricket also have corruption issues too.

Warriors beat the Knights and will take on the Titans in the MODC final on Friday night.

Keegan Petersen looks assured and calm at the crease. Good technique.

Nortje looks a good addition to the Warriors. Runs in hard like Birch has done for years for them and likes to test the pitch out a bit and batsman too for that matter with the balls around chin height.

Any new 140Km bowlers we should be excited about in the next two three years? I'm seeing a lot of 135km trundlers.

Not too many who are 140+ regularly. But then they've also got to be good enough with that pace ? ie de Lange, Viljoen, Magala are/have been questionable.

Some guys can reach 140kph but not regularly. Like Nortje last night. B.Hendricks/Williams/Paterson at Cobras. Engelbrecht at Dolphins.

Still think the best young quicks are Ngidi and Dupavillon (but just missed a whole season though) and liked first viewing of Migael Pretorius but needs to get to franchise cricket first and will be difficult for a couple of years with only 5 spots available to him. They can be 140+ and accurate with repeatable actions.

But unfortunately there is probably a few too many provincial/club players playing franchise cricket taking up spots and vice-versa. So SA cricket may be tested in the medium to long-term if this continues.

On the quicks again, Gerald Coetzee, will light up next years u19 CWC though 140kph+ and very capable with the bat too.

Coetzee looks exciting. I'm guessing he'll jump straight to franchise cricket after the next World Cup like Mulder?

Hard to believe he still has next year at school after this one. But if you have that natural pace and clearly dominating junior level I don't think it will take long for him to debut for Knights or another franchise who may swoop in.

Already articles in the local newspapers about him.

Their conveyor belt is ridiculous.

The Northersn team has mainly been playing Stefan Klopper, Grant Thomson, Thomas Kaber, Ruben Claasen, Migael Pretorius and Eldred Hawken for the 5 'white spots' in recent weeks. Considering the shift of guys like Markram, Klaasen, von Berg being used more regularly by the Titans this season and they've still made 1-day and 3-day finals. They then bring in a 20 year-old opening batsman called Ruben Herman and he is away with 122 on debut last weekend.

They also producing more POC which the union hasn't really done much of with guys like Rivaldo Moonsamy , Tony de Zorzi and Lungi Ngidi etc
