Stop buying headlines.. It was a 15 minute press conference and besides one or two comments, he was rational throughout and he praised the Australians for about 1 minute or so in total for their really competitive cricket and their hunger and willingness to adapt and even enjoy while at it, and he probably spent about 15 seconds on answering the question on friendship with Australia - after being personally attacked ruthlessly the whole series (& the level the aus media plummeted to).
Last tour he was already quite vocal, so next tour he'll be even more so, no doubt about it.
He may start ripping into the Australian media next year. He may even highlight one or two news organizations and their derogatory articles and perhaps later on, there may even be some big accusations.

All this seems quite predictable ATM.
He hates anything to do with Australian ATM. The amount of abuse he has got is approaching the level of Bhajji.

And even the Australian cricketers have been going at him and he going at them even more- his big sends off etc. He's deeply pissed.
dude you are reaching Kohli-levels of delusion of you are seriously thinking he is some poor victim of an evil, biased media.

He's gone full ****** this tour an is paying the price with his portrayal in the media. No one is targeting him or unfairly painting him as a ****. He is being a genuine **** and they are reporting it.

Steven Smith could well go on to become 2nd greatest Australian batsman behind Bradman and ahead of Ponting and Greg Chappell.

Not denying he's been ****, his behaviour has been out of control/impulsive, but there are always two sides of a coin/story. So he may well be partly justified in his behavior/comments/accusations.

tbf you're not entirely wrong about the media, of course they sensationalise. And he also probably genuinely feels he is justified or he wouldn't say what he does. He just delusionally sees himself as a victim and doesn't realise he is the problem.

Trying to fight the media is a futile exercise. He needs to realize that.

Some of the articles about him in the Aussie media were the complete dregs though... pathetic stuff.

I get the weird feeling that Kohli is seriously mentally ill
Nah, he's just your garden variety dickhead with a fragile ego. Comes off like the spoilt son of a rich & powerful politician / celebrity - the kind that can't handle even a hint of disrespect. See lots of his kind in India (and elsewhere, I imagine). If he wasn't exceptionally good at cricket, he'd be that guy who gets thrown out of a nightclub every weekend for getting into a fight with someone who looked at him "funny". "Jaantha hain mera baap kaun hain??!!" (do you know who my dad is??!!), he'd yell out impotently, his arms flailing around like a toddler while being carried outside by a weary bouncer who's sick of his ****.

I used to find his petulant dickishness kind of funny in a "lol what a ridiculous human being" way, but it's just boring and embarrassing now. And to continue doing it and making it all about him after not only completely failing in the series, but also missing the series decider is just...it's not only an example of incredible selfishness and poor leadership by taking the attention away from his teammates who actually deserve to be talked about, but it's also really, really stupid of him because all it does is put even more of a spotlight on how poor he's been.

I agree with a lot but he's a middle class kid who made it big so you are wrong and know as much about him as I do.So, yeah.

How long would it take for Kohli to be dropped batting as he is? Just assuming he doesn't fix it.
At least 10 more tests I imagine. Could be less if he continues behaving this way, but we've stuck with far lesser players for far longer (Ishant Sharma has played 70 odd tests). His issue seems to be that if he starts out with a couple of failures in a series, he has no idea how to get out of the rut. It's like his ego can't comprehend failure and he starts overthinking things. The injury in the previous test is the best thing that could've happened to him and India.

Despite all this, he's still one of our best bats. Much rather him than Rohit or Nair.
