CdG opening the bowling and taking poles from around the wicket is something that should only occur in an ICC 2010 save.
Haha the Amla wicket was very ICC 2010 as well - medium pacer inexplicably bowls a bloke with a half volley.

Went down the road to the bakery, got some coffee, all set to watch some test cricket.

Soon as I turn on the tv, the covers are brought on.

Yeah nah nah nah nah yeah nah

Nice interview on Sky with Waddle, who is commenting on his 250th test.

Fav NZ commentator. Love listening to him. Interestingly hate it when sometimes he hosts radio sports shows, he comes off as a total grump. His cricket commentary is outstanding though. The voice of NZ cricket.

This is such a meme NZ test.

Three of our best players are injured

We lose the toss

We **** up the DRS

It rains when I have time to sit down and watch

It will be a yeah nah end to the day with multiple pitch inspections only for it to be called off

Wads is fine when he's not in a grump. When he is though (which is becoming more and more common with age) he's ****ing tedious.

Have we hired Shane Watson as our DRS coach? (Wouldn't surprise me under this administration).

There absolutely doesn't seem to be a system for how it's used. BJ doesn't seem to be the focal point of the decision, which he should be as a keeper and someone at 51 Test matches is more than capable of making his voice heard. We had Neesham last Test (correctly) indicating a few weren't out, yet being ignored.

Find a system, take as much of the emotion out of it and geezus christ get it right. Especially if you're going to drop catches as well.

Such a non-opener shot that. They mustn't mess around with de Bruyn as well.

If it is time to move on from Cook, throw the kid Markram in.
I agree with you a 100%. I get the next cab off the rank thinking but we really don't want a repeat of the Van Zyl situation. This guy can play. Pick him in the middle order.

Really want to see big Vern bowl on this. He could have a party if the rain stays away.

If we can get to 200/250 it will be competitive.

Feel bad for theunis, he isn't an opener. When will we learn...

de Bruyn is a glorious stroke-maker and I really would have liked to watch a bit of him in a test match so hopefully rain stays away and he gets away in the 2nd dig.

But no doubt this must be his first and last test opening the batting.

PS Hoping we can get quite a bit of play today. Talk of early morning and late afternoon showers.

Forecast for the match may still be questionable, but great to see play start on time at 10:30 this morning.

Missed the DRS drama yesterday - sounds frustrating.
