Whatever it takes!!!
In Chennai, its called the last man gaage.
But runs against minnow bowling sides don't count right? and you know you have called Indian bowling that in the pastThink this has been Smith's best series as a batsman tbh, given the conditions and how well the opposition bowls in them. He's been immense. Apart from the first dig of the first test I don't think he's played loosely at all. He's one of those blokes whose will is so obviously the thing you have to overcome before you get him out. Only other Australian blokes I've seen like it are S Waugh and God himself, TOTAB.
They're minnows away. Not at home. Let's not get silly now.But runs against minnow bowling sides don't count right? and you know you have called Indian bowling that in the past
I would disagree tbh. He was loose as hell in the second innings at Pune and had 6 lives. I still think his knock here is more like the knocks in Australia when he belted around our toothless attack on roads. I would say his knocks against RSA were better actually. And I am not trying to belittle his efforts here and the knock at Pune was still excellent as they were perhaps as difficult the conditions could ever be for batting. But I still feel his efforts against that RSA attack were better juz coz that was a really good bowling side.Think this has been Smith's best series as a batsman tbh, given the conditions and how well the opposition bowls in them. Ok so Smith's runs against India in Australia don't count thenThey're minnows away. Not at home. Let's not get silly now.
It's pretty clearly his best IMO, even if he fails in the 4th test and Australia lose the series. The only comparable one is the home series against India where he made 4 centuries and made the most runs for any batsman in a 4 test series. But this has been more challenging/variable conditions and more pressure, and you really have to look at the cumulative impact of the performances given the match conditions. Hundred in Pune to secure the first win for Australia in India in 13 years, big hundred here to set up a good chance to secure the series. Couldn't have done too much more.Think this has been Smith's best series as a batsman tbh, given the conditions and how well the opposition bowls in them. He's been immense. These ones can count double instead.Ok so Smith's runs against India in Australia don't count then
You're not playing England mateAustralia has batted at a good pace which is good for India too. If India can fold the Aussies under 500 and rack up a huge total like 650-700, we will have enough time for a second innings shoot out.
He's now taking virtually a run a ball and giving SOK most of the strike too
