Well if someone hangs around with him long enough tomorrow they'll have a chance to clap his double. Such a determined bloke. You get the sense he's seriously pissed off with suggestions his side was cheating. Just wants to grind them into the dirt.
Oh yeah. Just something about the way he rocked up today, he just looked on. Dug a hole at the crease and refused to be budged.

Hell of a partnership, this. Took us from a pretty ordinary position into one where we're clear favourites.

Also remarkable restraint from Maxwell, I have to say. If this is a turning point for him we're realistically only a decent keeper away from having a genuinely world-class lineup.

Superb partnership.

Nothing more to say about Smitteh. He just finds a way to make runs.

I've seen some insane innings from Maxwell in the Shield. One ton against NSW was just nuts. But that was a great knock from him, and hopefully much more to come tomorrow. Hopefully he takes on board that whilst a crazy hit out will be on sometimes, this traditional Test quality batting is what is going to give him a long career. He's certainly got the game for it.

Australia's day, but I'd want to see at least another 200 runs because this looks a great pitch to bat on.

well Smith has to do this too.
He'll most probably get 200 if not more.

Nobody can get him out here if he plays the way he is playing (safe & sound approach). He would have to get himself out, and that could be through fatigue later in the day Tomorrow.

He might just say **** these ****s I'm going to keep batting on day 3.

Re India, I just wonder whether all the emotional intensity in the previous Test has just led to an emotional letdown this Test. They seemed to be acting like it was a tour match at times in the closing session.

Calling that wide short ball from Umesh a "beauty" seems a bit generous.
It's Brett Lee, any short delivery even if it's a metre over the batsman's head and goes for five wides is great bowling.

Surely M Marsh didn't break a shoulder from bowling a few overs so I think we owe who ever beat the **** out of him with a sock full of batteries a round of parmis

Hands up everyone on here that claimed Maxwell was just a slogger

There are plenty of you and you should hang your heads in shame tonight!

Myself and a few others told you the guy could really bat (not that I thought he'd display it at this time, mind you )

If (and it is a very big almost inconceivably huge "IF") he can continue to reign himself in like today, he could be a modern day K D Walters

Very happy for the guy after the **** that has been thrown at him

Having said that, I reckon tomorrow is 50/50 between an early nick off early and a massive one

BTW, TPC WAFG

Decent chance that we get the ole "team batting third is the only team that can lose the match" thing, and given it's Australia in India.........
Still think there won't be a result. And both teams are playing with an extra batsman and their lower orders are pretty handy too and Im sure its not going to be easy to even get the lower orders out.

Australia were 100/3 & I said they'd be around 320/4 at stumps. Close enough.
