Geez what a thrashing that was. Dwayne Smith has suddenly become the most valuable wicket in the tournament. Sorry Sanga.

The balls they use for internationals are US$130 I think. I suspect they're using cheaper ones for this tournament but they'd probably still be in that sort of range tbh.
Had no idea the Kookaburras are that much more expensive than SG. Pretty ridiculous. Just looked up Dukes as well, 70 pounds for the best ones. ****.

What do you guys use at club level?

We use kookaburras too, that cost around 400 hkd each and have an CHK stamp on them.

I checked and the balls for the Blitz aren't the international ones, but cost around 650 hkd each.

Still pretty pricey

They make lots of different grades and varieties of the Kooka; we tend to just use the more mid-range ones here at club level. Even those are still a fair bit more expensive than the SG Test balls though.

Great win. Loved the onslaught by Dwayne and Marlon. Nice to see Kyle Coetzer get some runs. Hopefully Calum gets a few next match.

Out of interest, how is this financially viable? They - somebody - has obviously shelled out a fortune for these stars, yet the thing is being played in front of about thirty spectators in a run down city park! It is being broadcast free on youtube! The obvious answer is sponsorship, yet sponsors usually want their name on a widely seen brand. Well I am impressed how they pulled this off anyhow. I rather hope it is some millionaire expat Indian businessman who is so cricket mad he is happy to run it at a loss.
