Serious question

Is Haze the world's best bowler CURRENTLY?

Guy is huge, bowls 140 clicks, naggingly accurate and moves the new and old ball

Must be a nightmare to face and the fact that most Indians rate Starc as the pace dangerman just goes to show how little cricket they watch

Whatever it takes!!!
I dont think Haze would be what he is if he did not Starc bowling with him though. I think as a pair, they are the best new ball attack in the world, now there maybe better overall attacks. Its hard to rate one of them better than the other coz either's success is so influenced by the others' traits and performances.

On this pitch Hazelwood is a nightmare but on a normal indian strip he will be ineffective, he doesn't have the extra pace or ability to reverse the ball. Bowling line and length on a slow low bounce wicket and batsmen will milk you for runs and won't get wickets unless batsmen make a mistake.

Tried to post this before when the thread locked, but I loved how after being given out Kohli went straight up to the viewing deck, watched the tv until he knew he was centre-frame, posed and looked straight at the camera, made his best aggrieved face, mouthed some angry words and then flounced and walked off.

Was classic.

I think the more appropriate response is:

Bowling a good line and length on a consistent basis will never really steer you wrong, least of all on Indian pitches.

People who think Haze isn't an independently great bowler right now probably have no idea how McGrath picked up 500 wickets.

It just feels so inevitable that India lose from here. The batsmen just dont have the tools to deal with this bowling in these conditions. Add to that lack of form and confidence...urgh

The close calls from the umps are going against India too. We are not getting anything more than 50 runs lead here, are we?

But Hazelwood isn't mcgrath he goes down leg side from time time and on a normal wicket he will go for 3-3.5 without taking wickets. So he will essentially be an ineffective bowler.

You gotten shorten the backlift and bat flourishy shots on this track tbh. That is how most Aussie batsmen survived that long yesterday. Rahul was fine till he went for a full blooded drive. Jadeja fell the same way. Not sure why they find it difficult to learn though.
