I do see what WW is saying in that it has been a while and there have been so many changes to the side. If you look at the rankings we have played literally half as many ODIs as England. We need to play more if this team is to improve and rise up the rankings.

Having said that, England is clearly the better, more experienced side and our players have played a lot of cricket domestically recently so rustiness can't be used as an excuse.

WW, would you have Cornwall in there as well? What do you make of Nurse?

I can't see him being selected for WI unless his weight drops massively. I mean there's big and then there is Cornwall.

Just as I slate him he starts bowling like an actual international bowler again. I maintain he isn't good enough though, no matter what he does against a pretty average team.

Had enough chances now and has never really developed into the bowler we hoped he would. Must be on borrowed time in all forms now.

Record is still decent in ODIs though, not sure we've got much else. Probably wouldn't be playing if Topley or Willey was fit anyway.

Is he in contention still/again? IIRC he was dropped after a shocking start to the World Cup last year and I got the impression he'd disappeared from the selector's minds somewhat, though admittedly I've not been paying a great deal of attention to him since.

We need to give a new spinner a try. Rash/Ali just not up to it. Ali stays in because he is a very useful bat in that position in order.

He's been injured for yonks, had an Op a few montths ago, I think he'd still be in contention if fit, but at the moment that's not likely.
