Some hope for your Warriors boys stphndbsn

Grey High School matriculant and recent South African-Under 19 representative, Matthew Breetzke, has during his high school tenure, set a new record for the most centuries scored for Grey’s 1st XI cricket.

Breetzke set the record of scoring 17 centuries for his school’s 1st XI and was as a result, presented with a cricket bat, boasting a plaque engraved with each one of those centuries scored.

Breetzke, who matriculated from Grey High in 2016, has astonishingly totalled over 5000 runs for his school.

Hopefully he does well, but lets see what happens in a year when he is offered more money by one of the other franchises.... or ends up at Stellenbosch/Wits/UP/UCT.... etc. Sorry very negative... lost to many good players to the bigger teams to feel very optimistic.

True. Since forever the Eastern Cape has produced rugby and cricket stars to only leave for the supposed bigger teams. Imagine if EP and Border kept their stars what they could have achieved.

At least he has got a gig with EP straight out of school.

Am I dreaming or was there talk of him going overseas?

Here is an oddity. 3 rookies in the Titans squad tomorrow in Rivaldo Moonsamy, Tony de Zorzi and Gregory Mahlokwana. The last name will get few people to take notice due to his bizareness.

The youngster’s is a peculiarity in cricket in that he bowls with both arms‚ either left-arm orthodox or off-spin.

“He uses both his arms‚ which is a rarity‚ and he is something special‚” said an upbeat Boucher.

“In the past‚ the Titans have produced international players but we have not produced enough young players and he is one of the few young players who will be given a chance to prove themselves.

“We are excited about him and he is something on a secret weapon for this season.”
MULTIPLY TITANS SQUAD: Albie Morkel (capt), Junior Dala, Henry Davids, Tony de Zorzi, Dean Elgar, Heinrich Klaasen, Heino Kuhn, Gregory Mahlokwana, Aiden Markram, Rivaldo Moonsamy, Morne Morkel, Malusi Siboto, Jonathan Vandiar, David Wiese.

The Titans have had to leave out Kuhn & Markram. They should haved jumped ship to the Dolphins.

Some fatties on show. VVJ, Vandiar, Engelbrecht, and the whale Frylinck... just need the bear Levi ,the Big Show Kleinveldt , Magala, von Berg and maybe Vern to join in as the fatties of SA cricket.

Going to make investment in the proposed 20/20 tournament difficult if the franchises will be hamstrung by quotas. Also, it’s difficult for the Titans as if Ngidi wasn’t injured he would be in NZ now, and the Titans instead of being congratulated for bringing through an African cricketer have to go through amateur cricket to find a replacement and drop an international player in the process.

Shows you how much domestic cricket I've watched as last time I saw him he was a beanpole. Christiaan Jonker can be added to the list of big boys as well.

The Titans just have too many good 'white' cricketers. The Dolphins need white batsman and the Lions have questionable real ability beyond Cook, Mulder, Pretorius, Viljoen. It isn't right. Imagine Kuhn/Markram and their feelings now. But fair play to them, saw them go and shake Rivaldo and Tony's hand to congratulate them on a debut in this format. Kuhn at his age might accept it better but Markram won't accept it for much longer.

Good knock by Moonsamy. Your new generation ODI innings. Hit awkward areas and went 360. Need to see him do it again but it is handy that he keeps as well. Klaasen for all he does in the longer format & T20 - he doesn't seem to be as good in OD cricket.

Savage with 4-60 - probably the only bowler who ran in and released with purpose and got good bounce and bowled good cutters. Engelbrecht just so hot and cold. Looks really good when he gets it through in the right areas but his action is not repeatable and will create accuracy/length issues and 128kph one ball to 140kph next ball.

Shezi/Frylinck amble in and there is no intensity there as seniors.

Defo Jonkie.

Rabs was touch and go but he just looks like he is struggling physically and has a bit of a gut and a big rear-end.
