GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
Hey GIMH, what is going on with Tranmere?
Got off to a flier then suddenly regressed to the point where it looked like we'd never win again and Gary Brabin was sacked. His assistant kept us afloat for a couple of weeks until the messiah Micky Mellon got the hell out of dodge and came up the A49 to his rightful home, leading us to I think seven wins and two draws from his first nine in charge. We somehow lost away to title rivals Lincoln despite dominating the game, returned to the top of the league on Boxing Day only to squander it with a horror show second half on New Years Day

After that, a combination of weather and scheduled opponents being in the FA Cup left us without a league game for four weeks and when we returned to action against dagenham we stank the place out in a 0-2 reverse but returned to action a few days later with a 3-0 win away to Woking. Ben Tollitt scored a blinder, it was to Hazard's goal V Arsenal what Get It On was to Cigarettes & Alcohol. We are fourth in the table, win our game in hand (which is against Sutton at home and they get **** all away) and we will be second. Five points behind Lincoln so I believe us to be very much in the title race.

We are also still in the FA Trophy, with a replay away to Chelmsford on Wednesday hopefully set to earn us a home tie to Barrow in the quarters.

Well, you did ask

Thank god the useless tosser did as we were dead and buried with his flops he signed last summer. Got a much better bloke in now and he doesn't slag off the fans if a result goes against him.

The useless tosser who took you straight back up from league 2 (and you had been utter gash the season before as you've acknowledged yourself) and gave you some decent cup games?

I get that things went sour but surely with time to reflect you can appreciate the good as well as the bad. He left you higher up the pyramid than he found you. Can't be that bad.

We were heading down under him and all he ever did at the end was blame the fans. 1 clean sheet in his last 32 games says all you need to know considering we have had 9 in 19 under Hurst in all competitions.

He had the 7th biggest budget in league 1 last season and just stopped up. Huge success.

How many managerial reigns follow that pattern of initial success followed by everything falling apart? Feels like it's more than half. There must be a reason why it happens so much.

So in summary you won't acknowledge the positives and choose to focus on the negatives

Okay cool

Hurst is a decent manager though, no argument.

Well despite the positives he won't be thought of as highly as many previous managers of ours. Just the way it is, if you slag off the fans you don't forget that, in time he may be looked upon more favourably but after a great first season it went sour very quickly and he wouldn't accept that most of it was down to him.
