Haha, yeah, I guess. It just struck me that it's not entirely out of the question that Beevs sits at home waiting for news items to appear that will allow him to take a crack at things he doesn't like.

For instance, I wonder what his reaction would be to some news item about a new umbrella being developed or something.

"Ah good, a new umbrella will help keep the rain off. Speaking of rain, the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain. ****ing Spain, I hate those ****s [insert long rant about Spain/Spanish footballers]".
As opposed to someone who waits for me to post a legitimate dig at something, so they can have a moan at me having a dig at something.

Obviously there is a big gulf between sin binning as proposed coming into top level football. Then another gulf between it then being applied correctly when Spain cynically pulls a player back when they lose the ball. Some situations are more obvious than others - they would often take a couple of yellow cards in a game when the break was more obvious. And yes pretty much every team would do it in that situation. Spain were just setup in a way to maximise and exploit this sort of professional foul on a regular basis.

City doing a decent impression of our performance last night, West Ham doing an even better one of Villa.

Summed up the United season that, pretty crap all games, but did create some good chances and as usual fluffed them. This side is absolutely toxic in front of goal.

Those who did not watch it will probably read about goal keeping heroics and while aye Hull keeper gunned it, twas poor finishing that was United'd downfall rather than the keeper turning into God for the evening.

Less said about the exclusion of Martial the better.

Its a really low standard race this for top 4 this year, Arsenal, United, Liverpool all deeply flawed. Best league in the world etc.

Nah I think it is actually the area where the Premier League is strongest, there are 6 good (not brillant) teams, it is the rest of the league that feels pretty weak this season.

Yeah must be the strongest top six in the PL era. Kind of funny that the top four race is becoming regularly closer than the title race, but also diminishing in value given the increase in PL tv money relative to European comps. Feels a bit like if City or United miss out it'll barely effective them. That said I do think it's pretty important for Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool still.

Honestly it kills me that they're just waltzing easily to another league title so soon. Not convinced they're that much better than the rest of the pack either, it's just kind of happened.

I feel like their worst is just much better than the worst of every other team. A bit lucky with injuries but tbf they're stacked with players that have always had good injury records.

No one in this league really has the character of champions, as cliche as that sounds. Chelsea this last month or so haven't played great and have gotten results. Fair play to them, but it's the kind of league where if two of those kinds of results go against you, you're ****ed. I think Liverpool really should have beat them. Not that we were great, but pressing them as we did we should have done far better...we won so much of the ball and Firmino missed some big chances.

If most of the top 10 clubs play the same way I can see them dropping points. The others will get creamed but anyone with a semi decent team should take the game to them.
